About Song Youn Park
Song Park, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist from South Korea. Dr. Park works with people who are experiencing various skin problems including skin cancers like merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) and melanoma, treatment-related dermatitis, eczema, and general dermatology needs. She also has a special interest in hair disease, and dermatological procedures including intralesional therapy, where concentrated doses of medication are injected directly into a skin lesion. The benefit of this type of therapy is that it allows us to treat a problem locally, minimizing side effects to the rest of the body.
Dr. Park values clear communication among the patient/family, physicians, and extended care team. Her goal is to customize the discussion to be comprehensive, yet straightforward, as well as to ensure that her patients share their questions and concerns in a comfortable environment.
Dr. Park is an Acting Instructor in the Division of Dermatology at UW School of Medicine. Her research interests include merkel cell carcinoma and melanoma. Before joining Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center as a physician, Dr. Park worked as a clinical research fellow with the Nghiem Laboratory coordinating patient care and participating in research on Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC), a rare type of skin cancer.
