Sigvard T. Hansen, M.D. is a UW professor of orthopaedics and sports medicine and director of the Foot and Ankle Institute that carries his name. He is a graduate of the UW School of Medicine and also completed his residency in orthopaedics here. He is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery.
Dr. Hansen is recognized as a leading expert on complex foot and ankle reconstruction after trauma and for treatment of congenital conditions or deformities caused by disease. His clinical interests include leg trauma; foot and ankle reconstruction; neuromuscular rheumatoid and diabetic deformity; ankle joint replacement; hindfoot, midfoot and forefoot reconstructions; and congenital deformities of leg and foot.
Dr. Hansen prefers to treat complex surgical problems and to get to know patients, their goals and their desires in depth.
Dr. Hansen enjoys traveling, gardening and skiing.
