BiographySigvard T. Hansen, M.D. is a UW professor of orthopaedics and sports medicine and director of the Foot and Ankle Institute that carries his name. He is a graduate of the UW School of Medicine and also completed his residency in orthopaedics here. He is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery.
Dr. Hansen is recognized as a leading expert on complex foot and ankle reconstruction after trauma and for treatment of congenital conditions or deformities caused by disease. His clinical interests include leg trauma; foot and ankle reconstruction; neuromuscular rheumatoid and diabetic deformity; ankle joint replacement; hindfoot, midfoot and forefoot reconstructions; and congenital deformities of leg and foot.
Dr. Hansen prefers to treat complex surgical problems and to get to know patients, their goals and their desires in depth.
