Dr. Krishnamurthy is a gastroenterologist who cares for patients with complex gastrointestinal disorders. She has been in practice for 35 years and has been treating patients with a wide variety of clinical gastrointestinal problems. Her education has included residency In Internal Medicine at University of Illinois affiliated hospital in Chicago [1976-79] and fellowship in Gastroenterology at SUNY at Stonybrook , NY and University of Washington [1979-82]. She has more recently completed a two year fellowship [2012-2014] in “ Integrative Medicine” under the directorship of Dr. Andrew Weil at the University of Arizona. She has also obtained additional training in herbal medicine and certified training in Guided Imagery and Hypnosis through the American Academy of Guided Imagery and American Society of Clinical Hypnosis.She has been selected for Seattle Metropolitan’s Top Doctors for five years in a row [2010-2015]
Patient Care Philosophy
I believe in a partnership between the patient and the doctor, where the goal is to treat the whole patient, not just the disease. I like to combine the best of conventional Western medicine with complementary therapies such as nutritional counseling,herbal therapies and mind-body techniques [hypnosis and guided imagery] that have high quality evidence supporting them. I also believe in health promotion which is just as important as treating disease.

I enjoy travel, reading and hiking.

Functional GI disorders including Irritable Bowel Syndrome; non-ulcer dyspepsia; functional heartburn; constipation and dysphagia
