Shari recognizes that while food is medicine, it is also nourishment, it is culture, it is social, it is intertwined with childhood upbringings, and it is a source of pleasure. In her visits, she considers all these aspects of food to help develop a personalized and thoughtful plan. She takes a patient-centered approach to her visits and practices from an evidence-based model, utilizing all the tools and resources available to her to help treat her patients holistically. Ultimately, her goal is to empower others. She strives to help her patients build and maintain health while finding ways to still enjoy the foods they love. Her clinical interests are many, some of which include diabetes and diabetes prevention, PCOS, and pre and postnatal nutrition.
