About Scott Barnhart
Scott Barnhart, M.D., M.P.H., is a board certified physician at the Chest Clinic at Harborview and a UW professor of General Internal Medicine and Global Health.
In addition to serving as an physician, Dr. Barnhart has research interests in the strengthening of health systems in countries such as Haiti and in sub-Saharan Africa. He values the privilege of caring for patients and is a strong believer in the right of patients to determine the direction of their care.
Dr. Barnhart earned his M.D. from George Washington University, Washington, D.C. and his M.P.H. from the UW. He has served as chief of UWMC's Occupational Medicine Clinic and Chest Clinic and was medical director of Harborview from 1999 to 2008. He is a fellow in the American College of Physicians and is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease and Occupational Medicine.
