Sarah McGuffin, M.D., M.S., is a resident physician who provides care for patients at a variety of at UWMC locations. She has a passion for teaching medical students and received UW’s Medicine Resident Excellence in Teaching Award.

Dr. McGuffin specializes in infectious diseases. She values the diverse patient population she has the privilege to work with, and enjoys providing personalized, comprehensive care. She feels her role is to help educate patients, learn from them, listen to their needs and together work on appropriate goals and treatments.

Dr. McGuffin earned her M.D. and M.S. at the UW. Her clinical and research interests include mycobacteria, neglected tropical diseases, and rational drug design.

Personal Interests

As a true Seattle native, when she is not providing medical care to patients Dr. McGuffin enjoys running, triathlons, hiking, camping and skiing.
