Samantha Kaplan, M.D., is a resident physician at the International Medicine Clinic at Harborview Medical Center.
As a new physician who earned her medical degree at Yale University, Dr. Kaplan hopes to keep her patients healthy and out of the hospital by developing trusting relationships with them. She strives to not only address their illnesses, but also other social and economic determinants of health. She is dedicated to serving all patients regardless of their race, nationality, ethnicity, socioeconomic status or religion.
Throughout her education, Dr. Kaplan has had a vested interest in global and public health and infectious diseases. She has traveled extensively, working and conducting research in South Africa, Ghana, Thailand, Tanzania and Uganda.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Kaplan adopts a “work hard, play hard” mentality. When she's not working, she enjoys spending time with friends and family or getting outside to hike, run, ski, rock climb and play ultimate Frisbee. She is new to Seattle and looks forward to exploring the area.
