Rita Mangione-Smith, M.D., M.P.H., is a board certified pediatrician at the Pediatric Care Center at UWMC-Roosevelt and a UW professor of Pediatrics and an adjunct professor of Health Services.

Dr. Mangione-Smith conducts research in methods to improve quality of pediatrics care. Much of her experience focuses on improving the way physicians communicate with patients and parents. She strives to create active partnerships with her patients and their families to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Dr. Mangione-Smith earned her M.D. at Wayne State University in Detroit and her M.P.H. at UCLA.

Personal Interests

Outside work, Dr. Mangione-Smith loves spending time with her two sons and husband.
