Richard D. Sheu, MD, is a board certified anesthesiologist at UW Medical Center and a UW assistant professor of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine.
Dr. Sheu is an expert in peri-operative management of patients with cardiothoracic diseases or concerns. He strives to make the experience of anesthesia as comfortable and safe as possible for his patients.
Dr. Sheu earned his MD from New York Medical College, Valhalla. He is board certified in both Anesthesiology and Echocardiography. HIs clinical interests includes peri-operative transesophageal echocardiography, heart failure, ventricular assist devices, heart and lung transplants, complex open-heart surgeries, valvular abnormalities and minimally invasive cardiothoracic procedures. He is also interested in clinical outcomes research utilizing peri-operative transesophageal echocardiography in cardiothoracic surgeries.
In addition to caring for patients in the hospital, Dr. Sheu also enjoys outdoor activities, playing sports, cooking and spending time with family and friends.
