Rena Patel, M.D., M.P.H., M.Phil., is a board certified physician at the Madison Clinic at Harborview and a UW acting assistant professor of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

In addition to seeing patients, Dr. Patel conducts mixed methods research, using both qualitative and quantitative tools, in HIV and reproductive health in Kenya. She believes in caring for her patients with the utmost compassion and patience.

Dr. Patel earned her M.D. from Stanford, her M.P.H. from Harvard, and her M.Phil. from Cambridge. She has previously worked in India, Tanzania, Ghana, Zimbabwe and Uganda. Her clinical and research interests include HIV, PrEP, women's health, reproductive health, contraception and safer conception.

Personal Interests

In her free time Dr. Patel enjoys bicycling, gardening and sewing.
