About Rashmi K. Sharma
Rashmi Sharma, M.D., M.H.S., is a board certified physician at UW Medical Center and a UW assistant professor of General Internal Medicine. In 2014, she was selected as one of 44 Inspiring Hospice and Palliative Medicine Leaders Under 40 in the U.S. by the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
Dr. Sharma’s goal as a palliative care physician is to provide care to patients facing serious illness that is consistent with their values and goals and optimizes quality of life as much as possible. She also believes her other main role is to help support family members’ through the patient’s illness.
Dr. Sharma earned her M.D. from the UW and her M.H.S. from Johns Hopkins. She is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Her research focuses on communication about end-of-life care.
Personal Interests
In her free time Dr. Sharma enjoys travel, spending time with family and trying new restaurants.
