Dr. Bernier is a psychologist at UW Medical Center and Seattle Children's, and a UW professor of psychiatry and psychology. He has special expertise in evaluating and counseling children and parents of children with disabilities.
His clinical interests include autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and developmental disabilities. He also researches the genetics, neurobiology and behavioral characteristics of individuals with ASD and chromosomal abnormalities. Dr. Bernier hopes his work promotes the earlier identification of children at risk for ASD so they can receive the earliest possible intervention.
