Dr. Pichler earned his M.D. at the University of Vienna. He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology. His clinical and research interests include diabetic kidney disease, renal failure in patients with liver disease, glomerulonephritis, hypertension, kidney transplantation, developing guidelines for the evaluation of patients with ESLD and concomitant renal failure, mechanisms of tubulointerstitial injury and experimental models of renal disease.
