Peter Von Homeyer, M.D., F.A.S.E., is an anesthesiologist at UW Medical Center, a UW assistant professor of Anesthesiology and an adjunct assistant professor of Surgery.
Dr. Von Homeyer believes in creating active partnerships with his patients to achieve the best possible outcomes. He is a clinical expert in cardiothoracic and vascular anesthesia and critical care medicine, particularly the postoperative care of patients after cardiothoracic or vascular surgery.
Dr. Von Homeyer earned his M.D. at the Free University of Berlin. His clinical interests include cardiothoracic and vascular anesthesia, anesthesia for patients with advanced heart failure receiving mechanical circulatory support and anesthesia for patients undergoing thoracic organ transplantation.
Dr. Von Homeyer's research interests include heart failure, mechanical circulatory support and heart transplantation, lung transplantation, extracorporeal life support, neuroprotection, quality improvement and safety and simulation in medical education.
When not practicing medicine, Dr. von Homeyer enjoys travelling, reading, movies and getting outdoors with his family.
