BiographyPeter Dunbar, M.D., Ch.B., M.B.A., is a board certified anesthesiologist at Harborview and a UW emeritus associate professor of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine.
Dr. Dunbar feels very lucky to work with some of the most professional young doctors and nurses taking care of the sickest patients anyone ever sees. His goal is to relieve the suffering of patients undergoing painful, stressful and life-threatening procedures, both medical and surgical.
Dr. Dunbar earned his M.D. at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, and his M.B.A. at the UW. He serves on the Boards of Trustees of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, Washington State Medical Association and the Washington State Society of Anesthesiologists. His research work has been in medical informatics, pain management, medication adherence, health policy and novel ways to apply topical heat to relieve pain.
Personal InterestsIn his free time Dr. Dunbar enjoys sailing, traveling, politics, bicycling, woodworking and spending time with family—especially grandchildren.
