Paul Pottinger, M.D., D.T.M.&H., is a board certified physician and director of the Infectious Diseases & Tropical Medicine Clinic at UW Medical Center and a UW associate professor of Medicine and Allergy and Infectious Diseases. He is also director of UWMC's Antimicrobial Stewardship Program and associate director of the Infectious Disease Training Program. He has been named a “Seattle Top Doc” by Seattle Met Magazine.
Dr. Pottinger strives to create active partnerships with his patients to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Dr. Pottinger earned his M.D. at Yale and his D.T.M.&H. at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He collaborates with colleagues worldwide to bring tropical medicine training to East Africa. He has received the Beeson Housestaff Teaching award, UWMC Teamwork Leadership and Caring award, Outstanding CME Teacher of the Year award and UW Chief of Medicine Service Award.
In his free time Dr. Pottinger enjoys mountaineering.
