Otway Louie, M.D., is a board certified surgeon at UW Medicine's Reconstructive Surgery Center and a UW associate professor in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in the division of plastic surgery.
Dr. Louie has expertise in microsurgical reconstruction and aesthetic surgery of the breast, head and neck
reconstruction, cosmetic surgery of the face and body and general reconstructive plastic surgery. He believes that how a surgeon interacts with his patient pre- and post-operatively is as important as his technical skills.
Dr. Louie earned his M.D. at Tufts University, Medford, Massachusetts. His research interests include clinical outcomes in microsurgical breast reconstruction and improving clinical and functional outcomes in oncologic reconstruction. He enjoys teaching both medical students and surgical residents in the operating room, at conferences and in clinic.
Dr. Louie enjoys snowboarding, surfing and anything outdoors.
