Olivia Chang, MD, MPH, FACOG, is a female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgeon, also known as a urogynecologist. She is also an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UW School of Medicine.  She received her medical doctor degree from Tulane University and her Masters in Public Health at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She completed her OB/GYN residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School followed by a fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Chang is committed to ensuring that all patients have access to high-quality treatment for pelvic organ prolapse, urinary issues, and those with congenital or acquired conditions that require vaginal reconstruction. When patients see her in the office, they will be welcomed with kindness and patience. It can feel isolating to have pelvic floor disorders, so she takes the time to ensure they are educated on their condition and the treatment options. Her goal is to help them overcome these conditions and help them live the life that they want. She believes in individualized, patient-centered care. She will work closely with every patient to identify the problems, and offer evidence-based solutions based on their wishes.

Dr. Chang has extensive non-surgical and surgical training for the treatment of pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence. She offers surgical vs non-surgical options and mesh vs non-mesh options for treatment. In addition, she provides uterine-preservation prolapse surgeries (no-hysterectomy) in addition to hysterectomy at the time of prolapse procedures. Her surgical repertoire is expansive, she is able to perform surgeries of all modalities – vaginal, laparoscopic or robotic surgeries.

Because of her training, Dr. Chang can offer her patients a treatment plan that is consistent with their goals. She also has extensive experience in complex vaginal reconstruction for congenital anomalies (vaginal agenesis, vaginal septum), radiation complications, as well as complex vesicovaginal fistula (bladder fistula) or rectovaginal fistula. She has cared for transgender patients during her time at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School and at the Cleveland Clinic. She is also trained to provide complex vaginal reconstruction with the use of myocutaneous (skin/muscle) flaps.
