Noah Hoffman, M.D., Ph.D., is a board certified pathologist at Harborview, associate director of UW Medicine Laboratory Medicine Informatics, co-director of the next-generation sequencing laboratory and a UW associate professor of Laboratory Medicine.
Though Dr. Hoffman doesn’t see patients as part of his practice, he cares for patients by helping to make health information systems as safe, transparent and easy to use as possible.
Dr. Hoffman earned his M.D. and Ph.D. from UNC Chapel Hill. He works closely with both the genetics and molecular microbiology laboratories to develop scientific computing infrastructure and bioinformatics applications. He also has research interests in the use of NGS technology to classify mixed bacterial populations by DNA sequencing and develops software to support operations throughout the laboratory.
