Nicholas B. Vedder, M.D., F.A.C.S., is a UW professor of Surgery and of Orthopedics and heads the Division of Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Vedder is an expert in plastic and reconstructive surgery, hand surgery and reconstructive microsurgery. He strives to care for each patient as he would want to be cared for myself.
Dr. Vedder earned his M.D. from Case Western Reserve University. He is board certified in Surgery and Plastic Surgery, with added qualifications in Hand Surgery.
Dr. Vedder's research laboratory examines the mechanism of reperfusion injury, which occurs when blood re-enters tissue, and novel methods of controlling this process through modulation of adhesion interaction between leukocytes and endothelium.
