Biography
Nicholas Poolos M.D., Ph.D., is a board certified neurologist, associate director of the UW Medicine Regional Epilepsy Center and a UW professor of Neurology and an adjunct associate professor of Physiology and Biophysics.Dr. Poolos specializes in epilepsy. He strives to create active partnerships with his patients to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Dr. Poolos earned his M.D. and Ph.D. from Stanford. He is the chair of the professional advisory board of the Epilepsy Foundation Northwest. He has concentrated his research in cellular neurophysiology with an emphasis on cellular and molecular causes of epilepsy with the goal of identifying novel targets for antiepileptic drug development.
Personal Interests
When he is not providing care to his patients, Dr. Poolos enjoys spending his free time with family.
