About Nicholas Pete Poolos
Nicholas Poolos MD, PhD, is a board-certified neurologist who specializes in the treatment of adults with epilepsy. He is an expert in the assessment of all types of epilepsy and seizure disorders. Dr. Poolos constantly strives to provide the best control of seizures using all available medications and surgical approaches. He believes in bringing the patient into all treatment decision-making.
Dr. Poolos's expertise is particularly focused on the treatment of medically refractory epilepsy, that is, seizures that have not responded to treatment. He brings to this approach results from research performed at the Regional Epilepsy Center (REC) and consultation with other neurologists and neurosurgeons at the REC.
Dr. Poolos is a professor of Neurology and Director of the UW Medicine Regional Epilepsy Center.
Personal Interests
Dr. Poolos enjoys spending time with family, getting into the outdoors of the beautiful Pacific Northwest, and following the Seahawks (Go Hawks!)
