BiographyNavin D. Fernando, M.D., is an orthopedic surgeon with subspecialty focus on direct anterior hip replacement, minimally invasive knee replacement surgery and the management of complex total joint problems such as revision, infection and fracture.
He completed his fellowship in Adult Joint Reconstruction at the Rothman Institute at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia and his orthopedic residency training at McMaster University in Ontario, Canada. Dr. Fernando is dual board certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
His clinical interests include minimally invasive total hip and knee replacement and complex total joint revision and hip impingement. His research interests include clinical outcome studies and diagnosis and management of periprosthetic infection.
Dr. Fernando is a member of the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Canadian Orthopaedic Association.
