About Monica B. Pagano
Dr. Monica B. Pagano is a Professor of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at the University of Washington and serves as the Medical Director of the Transfusion Service Laboratory at UW Medical Center (UWMC) and as the Division Head of Transfusion Services at UW Medicine.
Dr. Pagano oversees transfusion practices and consults with patients with complex transfusion needs. Her primary goals are to provide each patient with the best possible treatment and educate medical students and health providers about the use of blood products.
Dr. Pagano earned her M.D. at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. She is board-certified in Blood Bank/Transfusion Medicine and Clinical Pathology. She is an associate scientific member of the Biomedical Excellence for Safer Transfusion (BEST) Collaborative and a member of several professional associations, including AABB, the American Society of Hematology, the College of American Pathologists, and the American Society for Apheresis.
Personal Interests
In her free time Dr. Pagano enjoys swimming, kayaking, hiking, traveling with family and music.
