Dr. Monica Pagano serves as the Medical Director of the Transfusion Service Laboratory at UW Medical Center (UWMC), and the Associate Medical Director of the Transfusion Service Laboratory at Harborview Medical Center.
Dr Pagano is an Assistant Professor of Laboratory Medicine at UWMC .
Dr. Pagano oversees transfusion practices and provides consultation for patients with special transfusion needs. Her primary goals are to provide the best possible treatment to each patient and educate medical students and health providers in the use of blood products.
Dr. Pagano earned her M.D. at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. She is board certified in Blood Bank/Transfusion Medicine and Clinical Pathology. She serves as a member of the Research Committee at the American Society for Apheresis, and as a member of the Clinical Transfusion Medicine Committee AABB. She is a member of several professional associations, including AABB, American Society of Hematology, College of American Pathologists and American Society for Apheresis.
In her free time Dr. Pagano enjoys swimming, kayaking, hiking, traveling with family and music.
