Michelle Ju, MD, MPH is a surgical oncologist who specializes in the treatment of hepatopancreatobiliary cancers, or cancers of the pancreas, liver, and biliary system. Dr. Ju strives to form active partnerships with each patient as they navigate the complexities of a cancer diagnosis and receiving cancer care. She wants patients to walk away from their visit with a solid understanding of their diagnosis, prognosis, and available treatment options.
Dr. Ju often draws diagrams or reviews patients' imaging studies together with them to help them visualize their tumor(s), the relevant anatomy, and how that factors into decisions surrounding surgery. Her goal is for patients to feel confident answering the question "So, what did the doctor say?" when asked by their loved ones. She prioritizes providing compassionate, evidence-based, personalized care. Her clinical expertise includes pancreatic cancer, liver cancers, bile duct and gallbladder cancers, and colorectal liver metastases.
Dr. Ju employs a wide range of techniques including hepatic arterial infusion pump (HAIP) therapy and robotic surgery. She is also an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Department of Surgery, Section of Hepatopancreatobiliary Surgery at the University of Washington School of Medicine.
Dr. Ju enjoys spending time with her husband and son, playing pickleball, watching cooking competition shows, hosting dinner parties, and game nights with friends.
