Dr. Persenaire is competent and compassionate and takes however much time is needed to explain things to pt. I just wish it wasn't so difficult to get an appointment with him. Frequently it's "his schedule's not released yet", "his schedule's not released yet", "his schedule's not released yet.""oops, his schedule is completely full"

None! Both doctors were extremely helpful!
Dr. Persenaire is exceptional in being able to manage under time constraints and not make the pt feel like it's rushed. I'm a new pt with a LOT of baggage and he was able to pick out the pertinent information that needed to be sought out and addressed and knew what could wait for future appointments. He also truly listened, and I felt like I was receiving feedback honest feedback not just what I wanted to hear. It is also quite evident that he is extremely knowledgeable in his field and I need that now more than ever.
Dr. Persenaire and staff are great.
Dr. Personaire put me at ease , made the discussion comfortable for me, and provided a relaxed setting for my first experience at the Center. At the same time, tests were conducted in a manner that was comfortable and sensitive to my situation.
About Michael J. Persenaire
Dr. Persenaire is a sub-specialist neurologist with expertise in neurological diseases that cause symptoms of "cognitive dysfunction" and others that are due to inflammation in the brain, spinal cord or optic nerves. Within that set of neurological diseases are Alzheimer's Disease, Lewy Body Dementia, Primary Progressive Aphasia, Multiple Sclerosis, Neuromyelitis Optica and Autoimmune Encephalitis to name only a few.
His approach to patient care is to provide his patients with a good understanding about the cause of their symptoms so that they can adequately weigh the risks and benefits of their various treatment options and to act as their consultant to help them to make a decision that is aligned with their personal values. He strives to be guided by evidence from the medical literature in the diagnosis and treatment plans that he prescribes but acknowledges the limitations of this approach and that many decisions are made in the context of uncertainty.
