Kay Kolahi, RDN, CD, has degrees in Nutrition and Dietetics and in Home Economics Education, both from the University of Wyoming. She completed her Dietetic Internship and post-graduate work at Indiana University Health University Hospital.
Kay’s passion is to use nutrition as therapy to improve health. She spent many years tending to the nutritional needs of hospitalized patients with serious health issues. In 2008, she began work in the UWMC nutrition clinics. Her main focus includes patients with high-risk pregnancy, heart and liver transplant, cancer with chemotherapy, neuro- muscular disease, gastrointestinal disease, short gut syndrome, and obesity.
When Kay is not at work, she likes to play with her young grandchildren, hit the ski slopes, travel, shop, knit, read, and walk outside for exercise. If you have the opportunity to meet Kay, don’t be surprised by her attempts to get to know you and to understand you better. Aside from the help she wants to provide, she values what she is able to learn from you as well.
