About Louis J. Kim
Louis Kim, M.D., is chief of Neurological Surgery and director of the Associate Residency Program at Harborview. Dr. Kim is also UW's vice chairman and a professor of Neurological Surgery.
Dr. Kim strives to create active partnerships with his patients to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Dr. Kim specializes exclusively in the treatment of cerebrovascular and spinal vascular lesions. He is board-certified in neurological surgery and is part of a select group of neurosurgeons across the U.S. fellowship-trained in both open vascular/skull base microsurgery and endovascular techniques for the treatment of cerebrovascular and spinal vascular diseases.
Dr. Kim’s clinical research relates to patient outcome measures and refinements of surgical and endovascular techniques in aneurysm, arteriovenous malformation, skull based tumor and cavernous malformation surgery. He is engaged in several prospective cerebrovascular clinical trials charged with improving neurosurgical care delivery and patient outcomes.
Personal Interests
When away from practicing medicine, Dr. Kim enjoys spending time hiking, skiing, running, golfing and reading.
