Dr. Simmons' clinical interests include managing maternal disease in pregnancy, ultrasonography and prenatal diagnosis. She values listening and partnering with patients and their families with the goal of a healthy mom, a safe delivery and a healthy baby (or babies!).
Dr. Simmons received her MD degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine. She enthusiastically moved to the Pacific Northwest and completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at UW Medicine. She worked as an OB/Gyn with University of Washington Physicians Network and Veteran's Administration-Puget Sound. She subsequently completed maternal-fetal medicine fellowship also at UW Medicine. She practiced perinatology for over 4 years in Atlanta, GA and recently returned to UW Medicine to return to academic medicine.
LaVone Simmons, MD is an acting assistant professor in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Washington.
Dr. Simmons enjoys traveling, exploring the waterways and mountains of the beautiful Pacific Northwest and spending time with her family across the US during her free time.
