About Laura S. Connelly-Smith
Laura Connelly-Smith, B.Pharm., M.B.B.Ch., D.M., is assistant medical director of the Apheresis and Cellular Therapy Laboratory at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center and a UW assistant professor of Hematology.
Dr. Connelly-Smith believes that good listening, clear and honest communication with patients combined with compassion and care provides the basis for a shared understanding and trust. She believes in trying to afford patients the opportunity to receive appropriate, innovative treatment in an academic institution environment.
Dr. Connelly-Smith earned her B.Pharm. cum laude and her M.B.B.Ch. from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. She earned her D.M. from the University of Nottingham, U.K. Dr. Connelly-Smith specializes in hematology oncology and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) including complex post-transplant complications. She has expertise in therapeutic apheresis, procurement of bone marrow and peripheral blood hematopoietic stem cells as well as stem cell donor assessment and care.
