About Kathryn L Treit
Kathryn Treit, MD, is a board certified nephrologist who specializes in the care of patients with chronic kidney disease, hypertension and patients requiring dialysis with an emphasis on home dialysis.
Dr. Treit believes in the importance of an individualized care plan that is focused on ensuring that patients have the level of information they desire for their care. She knows that kidney disease is complex and often scary for patients when they haven't been given the tools to fully understand their health care. She seeks to connect and partner with each patient in a way that helps them achieve their goals.
Dr. Treit provides care from early to late stage kidney disease including caring for patients on dialysis. She is the Medical Director for Peritoneal Dialysis and uses this special expertise to guide people towards understanding and often choosing home dialysis. Dr. Treit is also an Associate Professor of Nephrology at the University of Washington.
Personal Interests
Dr. Treit enjoys the outdoors with either trail running or backpacking and even convinces her husband and two children to occasionally join. You can also find her at many of the local beaches exploring with her family and searching for sea glass to add to the family collection.
