About Karen Jane Souter
Dr. Karen Souter, MB, BS, FRCA, MACM, is a board-certified physician anesthesiologist. She specializes in providing anesthesia for neurosurgical procedures. She believes in providing patients with the safest care possible in the setting of a team approach to their anesthesia care. She received her medical education at the University of London (UK).
Dr. Souter is also a full professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. She has a longstanding interest in medical education and in 2011 was a recipient of the ACGME Parker Palmer Courage to Teach Award. Dr. Souter is active nationally in a number of professional societies related to anesthesia and education.
Personal Interests
Dr. Souter enjoys scuba diving, travel, nature, poetry, and vegetarian cooking. She has a daily yoga and meditation practice.
