About Joshua Tisdell Schiffer
Joshua Schiffer, M.D., M.Sc., is a board certified physician at SCCA and an assistant member in the Clinical Research and Vaccine and Infectious Disease divisions at Fred Hutch, and a UW assistant professor of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and Medicine.
Dr. Schiffer chose academic medicine as a career because he enjoys working at the interface of patient care and scientific discovery. He enjoys the intellectual challenge of treating patients with complex medical problems and the rewards of educating and treating patients who put their trust in our clinical team.
Dr. Schiffer earned his M.D. from Johns Hopkins and his M.Sc. from the UW. He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. His clinical and research interests include HIV medicine, infections in immunocompromised hosts, human herpesvirus infections, mathematical modeling of infectious diseases and herpes simplex virus-2 pathogenesis.
Personal Interests
In his free time Dr. Schiffer enjoys hikiing, reading, downwind paddleboard racing and spending time with his wife and two sons.
