About Joseph Cuschieri
Joseph Cuschieri, M.D., F.A.C.S., is a board certified surgeon at Harborview, director of Harborview Surgical Critical Care, associate program director of the Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at UW Medical Center, a UW professor of Surgery and an adjunct professor of Orthopedics and Sports Medicine.
Dr. Cuschieri specializes in general surgery, emergency surgery and critical care. He believes in providing the highest standard in medical and surgical care to patients and families suffering traumatic or acute surgical diseases.
Dr. Cuschieri earned his M.D. at Wayne State University in Detroit. He is board certified in both General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. His clinical interests include surgical infections and inflammatory cell function following trauma and during sepsis. He is involved in NIH-sponsored research investigating alterations in host immunity following injury and during ischemia.
Personal Interests
In his free time, Dr. Cuschieri enjoys strength training, skiing and meditation.
