About John V.L. Sheffield
John V.L. Sheffield, M.D. is associate chief of medicine at Harborview Medical Center, Harborview Internal Medicine Clerkship site coordinator, and a UW professor of medicine. He practices general internal medicine in Harborview clinics and inpatient wards.
Dr. Sheffield's clinical interests include general internal medicine in both clinic and hospital settings, preventive medicine, primary general medical and HIV care.
Dr. Sheffield views
himself as a teacher and strives to give his patients and trainees the best information available to make informed decisions. He encourages patients to take active responsibility for their care, and works hard to be available and support his patients between clinic visits.
He has received numerous clinical and teaching awards including listing in "Best Doctors in America."
