John Olerud, M.D., is a board certified physician and medical director at the Dermatology Clinic at UWMC Roosevelt and a UW professor emeritus of Dermatology and Medicine.

Dr. Olerud isa celebrated physician, researcher and instructor. He enjoys trying to help patients with skin problems that have been difficult to diagnose and manage.

Dr. Olerud earned his M.D. from the UW. He is a prolific researcher and has served in a number of prominent roles: the UW George F. Odland Professor of Medicine, head of Dermatology, president of the Association of Professors of Dermatology and principle investigator for numerous federal grants.  His awards include the Regents Distinguished Alumnus Award, the Resident Teaching Award (named in his honor), Seattle and Seattle Met Magazines' Top Doctors, Washington magazine’s Best Doctors, the Best Doctors in America and Washington State University Sports Hall of Fame.

Personal Interests

In his free time Dr. Olerud enjoys playing senior baseball, golf, travel and photography. Most of all, he enjoys time with family and friends.
