Bio

John W. Miller, M.D., Ph.D., is director of the Regional Epilepsy Center at Harborview Medical Center, Seattle. Dr. Miller is a board-certified neurologist who specializes in diagnosing and treating seizures and epilepsy, particularly conditions resistant to standard treatments.

Dr. Miller earned his M.D. and Ph.D. from University of Illinois, Chicago. He completed neurology training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and fellowship training in electroencephalography, epilepsy and neuropharmacology at the Mayo Clinic and at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.

Dr. Miller’s clinical interests include causes and prevention of epilepsy, and treatment of drug resistant epilepsy and of epilepsy during pregnancy. His research interests include new treatments for drug resistant epilepsy, less invasive approaches to epilepsy neurosurgery, epilepsy and pregnancy, and cognitive effects of epilepsy and treatments.

Dr. Miller is a UW professor of neurology and neurological surgery.

In addition for providing care to his patients, Dr. Miller enjoys hiking, traveling and spending time with his family.
