About John L. Gore
John Gore, M.D., M.S., is a board-certified oncologist at UW Medical Center and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, the UW’s Jessie H. Bridges Endowed Professor in Prostate Cancer and Urology Research, a UW associate professor of Urology and a professor of Surgery.
Dr. Gore believes in attentive and compassionate care with a focus on patient-centered outcomes. He also believes in balancing the characteristics of patients’ cancers with the surgical approach that maximizes both cancer control and patient convalescence.
Dr. Gore earned his M.D. at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas and his M.S. at UCLA. He has clinical expertise in minimally invasive and robotic surgery. He has focused his research on studying issues of access to care and quality of care for patients with urologic cancers and the development of patient-centered resources for cancer care.

Dr. Gore enjoys spending time with his family, travel, cooking, hiking and skiing.
