Joanne Wen, M.D., is a board certified ophthalmologist at Harborview and a UW assistant professor of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Wen believes in educating and working with patients and through this partnership deciding on a management plan that maximizes our ability to prevent glaucoma-related blindness.
Dr. Wen earned her M.D. from UCLA, graduating at the top of her class. She completed her residency training at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA, where she was twice awarded the Jules Stein Eye Institute Research Award. Dr. Wen’s research interests include improving our understanding of glaucoma pathogenesis at both the level of aqueous outflow as well as the optic nerve.
Dr. Wen lives in Seattle with her husband and her six-pound rescued Chihuahua. She enjoys watching movies, cooking, music and exploring Seattle and the Pacific Northwest.
