About Joanna E. Wrede
Joanna Wrede, MD is a board-certified pediatric neurologist and sleep medicine specialist who specializes in pediatric sleep disorders and general child neurology. Dr. Wrede sees patients through Seattle Children's Hospital clinics. She is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine; Department of Neurology, Division of Pediatric Neurology.
Dr. Wrede believes in a collaborative approach to patient care, taking into account families' preferences and individual circumstances, and working as a team with their other providers as needed. It is important to her that families feel their concerns have been heard and leave each visit with a better understanding of their child's condition and treatment plan.
Dr. Wrede's clinical interests include all aspects of sleep medicine (sleep apnea, restless legs syndrome, narcolepsy, circadian rhythm disorders, etc). Child neurology interests include tic disorders and epilepsy. She is especially interested in the sleep disorders seen in special neurodevelopmental populations, including Prader Willi syndrome and Tuberous Sclerosis Complex.
Personal Interests
Dr. Wrede enjoys exploring new foods, appreciating art, traveling and learning about other cultures, photography, jogging, and spending time with her family.
