About Jessica L. Whitfield
Jessica Whitfield, M.D., M.P.H., is a physician at the Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic at UWMC-Roosevelt and a UW instructor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.
Dr. Whitfield’s patient care philosophy is informed by her background and interest in population health and health care systems. She understands that experiencing a mental illness, especially a chronic mental illness, can be challenging and overwhelming enough on its own—but navigating the health care system can add an extra layer of difficulty. In meeting with patients, she hopes to keep this constantly in mind, to meet patients where they are and look for opportunities to connect them to effective resources and treatments.
Dr. Whitfield earned her M.D. at Saint Louis University and her M.P.H. at Columbia.
Personal Interests
In her free time Dr. Whitfield enjoys reading, cooking, getting into the great outdoors, learning about meteorology and aviation.
