Jeffrey J. Sherman, Ph.D., is director of the Rehabilitation Psychology Consultation Service at Harborview Medical Center, Seattle. Dr. Sherman specializes in treating people with brain injury, spinal cord injury, and other traumas both immediately after their injuries and long term.
Dr. Sherman's clinical interests include helping patients learn to live as fully and functionally as possible with traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, other physical traumas, anxiety, depression, posttraumatic stress disorder and pain. His research interests include studying disparities in the delivery of mental health care in the rehabilitation setting, biobehavioral mechanisms of acute and chronic pain, and the relationship between pain and posttraumatic stress disorder.
Dr. Sherman is a UW clinical associate professor of rehabilitation medicine and director of the Clinical Rehabilitation Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship. He joined the UW faculty in 1998.
In his spare time, Dr. Sherman enjoys hiking, backpacking, kayaking and trying to keep his two children out of too much trouble.
