About Javeed Ali Shah
Javeed Shah, M.D., is a board certified physician at the Madison Clinic at Harborview and a UW assistant professor of Medicine and Allergy and Infectious Diseases and an adjunct assistant professor of Global Health.
Patient care is most rewarding to Dr. Shah when he is able to empower his patients to make decisions beneficial to their health on an ongoing basis. He also enjoys going to into the community for patient visits and caring for all aspects of their health needs.
Dr. Shah earned his M.D. from the University of Chicago. He is board certified in both Infectious Disease and Internal Medicine. Dr. Shah's research interests involve better understanding the immune response to infections like tuberculosis and leprosy, and how vaccines and therapeutics may be better designed to reduce the burden of disease to these infections. He has published more than 10 peer-reviewed articles in his time as a researcher. He is a member of the American Medical Association and the Infectious Diseases Society of America.
Personal Interests
In his free time Dr. Shah enjoys soccer, classical music and watching his two children run around the house.
