About Jared M. Baeten

Jared Baeten, M.D., Ph.D., is a board certified physician at the Madison Clinic at Harborview and a UW professor of Medicine, Global Health, Allergy and Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology.

Dr. Baeten conducts research into new ways to prevent and treat HIV infection, leading large-scale research studies in Africa. He is committed to the primary care of patients with HIV infection and to the prevention of HIV in Seattle and globally. He finds it incredibly motivating to work in this time when we have fantastic medications to treat and prevent HIV infection.

Dr. Baeten earned his M.D. and Ph.D. from the UW. He is a fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America and board certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases. His clinical and research interests include all areas of HIV treatment and prevention.

Personal Interests

In his free time Dr. Baeten enjoys travel, gardening, cooking and family.
