Dr. Stein and his fellow [...] both listened empathetically and were compassionate, clear, and thoughtful. About Isaac Chuang Stein
Dr. Stein is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon and an Assistant Professor in the Division of Plastic Surgery at the UW School of Medicine.
Dr. Stein primarily focuses on oncologic reconstruction of the breast, trunk, and extremities including all types of skin cancer. By working closely with surgeons of other specialties, he strives to restore form and function to those patients who undergo surgery to remove cancer. He also performs body contouring surgery and aesthetic breast surgery. His approach to care is one of collaboration and partnership; he wants all patients to fully understand their options for care and helps guide them to a solution that most appropriately addresses their goals. His most rewarding moment is when a patient returns to their life feeling both physically and emotionally whole.
Dr. Stein's research interest centers around clinical outcomes of both reconstructive and aesthetic breast surgery as well as systems quality improvement for the overall patient experience.
Personal Interests
Dr. Stein fully embraces the beauty and nature that comes with living in the Pacific Northwest. He enjoys skiing, mountaineering, backpacking, and generally exploring the lush forests and mountains of the Cascades. He enjoys traveling with friends and family to see new parts of the world and experience unique cultures.
