Hernando Olivar, M.D., is an anesthesiologist on the Quality Improvement Committee at Harborview Medical Center and a UW associate professor of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine.

Dr. Olivar provides care to a wide range of patients including critically ill and severely injured. When he meets with patients, he strives to establish an honest doctor-patient relationship. Understanding the human behind the medical concern enables him to explain and deliver the best medical care supported by the most current technology.

Dr. Olivar earned his M.D. from Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario in Colombia, South America. He has received special recognition from the Anesthesia residents for excellence in teaching. He has published several peer review articles.

Personal Interests

In his free time Dr. Olivar enjoys soccer and spending time with family.
