About Herbert C. Duber
Herbert Duber, M.D., M.P.H., is a board certified emergency physician, Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine, and Adjunct Associate Professor of Global Health and Health Metrics Sciences at the UW’s Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME). He works clinically in the Harborview and University of Washington Medical Center - Montlake Emergency Departments.
Dr. Duber leads the Section of Population Health in the Department of Emergency Medicine. He believes that one of the great aspects of emergency medicine is the opportunity to work with patients from all walks of life. He feels it is important to be empathetic towards patients, inclusive of their family and partners and provide explanations that are clear and concise.
Dr. Duber earned his M.P.H. from the Harvard School of Public Health and his M.D. from New York University School of Medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and a member of the WA chapter's Board of Directors. He is actively involved in public health research focused on vulnerable and underserved communities locally and globally.
Personal Interests
In his free time Dr. Duber enjoys skiing, squash, camping, hiking and spending time with family.
