Gregory Dembo, M.D., is director of Transplant Anesthesia at UW Medical Center and a UW associate professor of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Dembo doesn't just treat the disease. He treats each patient as a whole person. He understands that every patient has unique needs, and meets them with compassion and respect. Dr. Dembo receives great pleasure from sharing his knowledge and experience with younger colleagues, and watching them grow and change.
Dr. Dembo earned his M.D. at St. Petersburg State I.P. Pavlov Medical University in Russia. As chair of the Anesthesia Equipment Committee at UWMC, Dr. Dembo helps bring innovative technologies into anesthetic practice. He led UWMC’s development of anesthetic management of living related kidney transplantation surgery. His clinical expertise includes abdominal transplants, including transplantation of the liver, kidney, pancreas and intestines. His research interests include patient safety during transplantation surgery and prevention of complications during liver transplantation surgery.
In his free time Dr. Dembo enjoys hiking, biking, skiing, traveling and spending time with his family.
