About Gemi E. Jannotta
Gemi Jannotta is a Nurse Practitioner in the Neuro-Critical Care ICU at Harborview Medical Center. Gemi has 10 years of clinical experience in the Trauma/Neuro-critical care and Pediatric Neurosurgery settings. She earned her MSN in Acute Care and a PhD in Nursing Science from the University of Florida. She is a certified Acute Care ARNP through the ANCC. She has also held the appointment of clinical associate professor at Jacksonville University where she enjoyed educating new nurse practitioners.
Clinical research includes Neuro-critical care, pain and improving pain management in the critically ill patient, neuro-oncology, and palliative and end of life care.
Past research work included hemicraniectomy for status epilepticus, caregiver perspectives of pain in non-verbal children with Autism, and head circumference and FOR score in premature infants in the NICU. Current interests in research includes using TCD in traumatic SAH, increasing nurse driven protocols and algorithms to better care for critically ill patients.
Personal Interests
Travelling, spending time with family and friends, caligraphy and biking.
