About Gary A. Walco
Gary Walco, Ph.D., is a board certified pediatric health psychologist, director of Pain Medicine at Seattle Children’s Hospital, a UW Professor of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine and an adjunct professor of Pediatrics and Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences.
Dr. Walco strives to create active partnerships with his patients and their families to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Dr. Walco earned his Ph.D. from Ohio State University. His clinical and research interests include safety and efficacy of pain medicines in infants, children and adolescents, psychological methods to address pain and function in children, ethics of pain prevention and treatment and the relationship between subjective pain report, pain behavior and physiological stress responses
Personal Interests
Dr. Walco is a die-hard Los Angeles Dodgers baseball fan. He also enjoys bicycling and hiking in his spare time.
