About Gabrielle N. Berger
Gabrielle Berger, M.D., is a board certified physician and director for Inpatient Capacity at UW Medical Center and a UW assistant professor of General Internal Medicine. She is also director of UW’s Intern Teaching Conference.
Dr. Berger believes that listening to patients’ concerns, unique experiences, and aspirations forms the core of a successful patient-doctor relationship. She particularly values helping patients navigate difficult medical decisions, especially concerning end-of-life care. She feels privileged to care for patients in the hospital during periods of acute illness and is committed to helping create safe and supportive transitions back to the community.
Dr. Berger earnedher M.D. from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She was a chief resident at San Francisco General Hospital prior to joining UW Medicine. Dr. Berger’s clinical and research interests include palliative care, medical ethics and error disclosure.

In her free time Dr. Berger enjoys hiking, biking and snowshoeing.
